From PregnancyWeekly at 16 weeks:
one of the most memorable and exciting moments of your pregnancy is coming soon. This is about the time you may feel your baby move for the first time, also called quickening. If this is your first pregnancy, you may not notice quickening for another couple of weeks, but it is very common to become aware of these fetal movements at any time up to 24 weeks. In general, thinner moms-to-be will feel quickening earlier than heavier moms-to-be. Your doctor will inquire about these movements from time to time; the week you feel quickening will help your doctor pinpoint your exact due date.
And something to 'help' with those sleepless nights:
From now on, don't lie on your back, as this could reduce or restrict the blood flow to your baby by putting extra pressure on the aorta and vena cava. Lie down on your side instead, preferably the left side, when you're resting or sleeping.
From BabyCenter at 16 weeks:
Get ready for a growth spurt! In the next few weeks your baby will double her weight and add inches to her length. She's even growing toenails now. You're going through a bit of a growth spurt yourself. The top of your uterus is now about halfway between the top of your pubic bone and your navel. And the round ligaments that support your uterus are thickening and stretching as you grow. You're also probably looking and feeling a whole lot better as you adapt to pregnancy. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.
