plan
this weekend did not go as planned. the hubs and i had taken a day off work to go up to the family cabin in Leavenworth. but, then friday came and i went to work and the hubs was home with itty bitty. itty bitty had a fever and was a roller coaster of manic coughing and then feeling better. so we called off the trip, but lil one still wanted to go. so Nana and Popa offered to take her. this seemed to be a good option at the time since it would leave us parents with one child and lil one would get some time up at the cabin. and itty bitty would be able to rest and be in her own bed and not traveling in the car... unlike our trip to Vegas when she had pneumonia last month, cause traveling on a plane and going to Vegas was smart.
so lil one was happily on her way with Nana and Popa, the hubs and i were at home trading off with itty bitty duty. we even got some chores done around the house and got outside for a bit. then we tried to call Nana and Popa to see if they arrived at the cabin only to find out the phone was disconnected and they do not have cell service. ummm... we didn't really panic as we did try to call every couple of hours, consider driving one of us up there to make sure they were okay, etc.
Sunday came and we finally heard back from Nana and Popa and we were going to take dinner down to their house. sort of an impromptu birthday dinner for Nana. i was going to pick up cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes in Bellevue using my Groupon. so, we get there to pick up the cupcakes and they say 'sorry it won't work here'. me leaving and then pissed off get in a fight with the hubs and in tears the rest of the way to Nana and Popa's house. good times.
at least today was monday and i still took the day off. we got some spring cleaning in... windows, floors, put some winter clothes in the attic, did laundry, cleaned blinds, finished one project, etc. so the weekend wasn't a complete waste. we did watch the Fighter.
